Bacchus Bar
253 The Esplanade, Henley Beach
+61883562644
Capacity: 150
Bacchus sits on The Esplanade at Henley Square, looking out over the beach and the jetty. It works as a restaurant and bar first, with platters, pizzas and fish tacos, a local drinks list drawn from the breweries and wineries nearby, and a deck that catches the sunset. It is dog friendly, complete with a pooch park and a K9 menu, and holds 150.
The music runs to a fixed weekly rhythm rather than one off bookings. DJs play Friday and Saturday from seven and Sunday from four, the warmer months bring live music as well, and the venue takes a winter break through June and July.
Friday Night Fever is the anchor, Jaki J working seventies through noughties dancefloor anthems on the deck with free entry and the kitchen open for dinner beforehand. Beats on Parade have brought their roaming night here too, four hours of old school by the water, and Johnny Concept has played the long Easter Sunday session.
