Adelaide Audio Institute
285 South Rd, Mile End
Adelaide Audio Institute sits at 285 South Road, Mile End, and is a teaching space rather than a club. Its core offering is Launch Lab, an eight week one to one mentorship program split across three streams: DJing, production in Ableton or Logic, and artist development for vocalists and songwriters. Every student finishes with a real project rather than just a certificate.
The mentors are all working artists. Tom Calvett is one half of drum & bass duo V O E, Caroline Tucker has played Boiler Room London and released on Viper, and Katie Morrison, who DJs as Amorositie, came up through the program before mentoring in it herself. Training happens on club standard Pioneer gear, and there is a separate recording studio arm.
It occasionally opens its doors to the wider scene. Wickid Lickwid ran a free Art of DJing seminar here, with Eluize, Gunda G, CARZi and James Corbett taking questions from the floor.
