Sam Lavers
Sam Lavers is an Adelaide DJ, vinyl selector and music worker who describes himself as a “disco service provider.” Active behind the decks for more than a decade, he is known for sets moving through disco, funk, soul, boogie, jazz, house, hip hop, new wave, downtempo and left-field pop. His association with Rocket Bar & Rooftop includes all-vinyl appearances dating back to 2016, while community events have placed him in parks, markets and bars across the city. Sam hosts Second Breakfast on duck! radio, using the two-hour program for selections that can run from psychedelic funk and samba to alternative rock and electronic music. He also writes The Note’s monthly Beats Round Up, covering hip hop, house, techno and new releases. Away from DJing, Sam works through Flow Process Music and was selected as a 2023 Robert Stigwood Industry Fellow. Appearances include Wauwi Nights in Light Square and Park Up in Hindmarsh Square, where his vinyl sets suit relaxed daytime and early-evening crowds.
