Drewy aka Steven Drew

Drewy is the DJ name of Steven Drew, an Adelaide selector connected with the city’s hard-dance and underground rave community. A supporter of independent events, he has contributed through lighting and laser production, bringing an understanding of how sound, visuals and atmosphere work together. His musical lane centres on hard house, hard trance and hard techno, with room for the tougher edges of the rave spectrum. Rather than presenting hard dance as nostalgia alone, Drewy draws on the energy and communal spirit of Adelaide’s earlier warehouse and club culture while playing for its current generation. Recent appearances have placed him alongside names including Devious, Dementia, JMAD, Monkey, Rexxy, Shade and Tripmaker. He has also joined the Armageddon event series at Cosmos Club, a multi-room format spanning hard dance, techno, jungle, breakbeat and drum and bass. Drewy’s sets favour forceful rhythm, direct momentum and the shared release at the centre of an underground rave.
