skip-a-beat
skip-a-beat is a Mumbai-based transmedia label and cultural event series founded by Tejas Nair, the producer, DJ and media artist who performs as Spryk. It began in late 2018 as a home for his debut album, Strange Movements, growing out of his online radio show spotlighting lesser-known electronic talent from across the Indian subcontinent, and has since become a platform where music, visual art and conversation share the same space. Its Adelaide debut came in August 2026 at Ancient World, where Spryk and visual artist Dave Court presented a brand new audiovisual set, supported by Adelaide's own Kaurset and know.clu. The night opened with a conversation between Spryk, Dave Court and know.clu on process, place and identity, plus a community mixer with UNESCO Adelaide City of Music, and closed with a three-way back to back with Dave Court on visuals.
