Kai Ward is an Adelaide DJ and booking agent whose solo sets pair broad musical knowledge with a feel for the crowd. Billing himself as “The People’s DJ,” he works across deep house, funk, disco, R&B, dancehall and pop, moving between club rhythms, singalongs and familiar throwbacks. His athlete-to-artist story informs the discipline and energy he brings to each booking. Ward has performed at clubs, sporting fixtures and public events, including LIV Golf Adelaide, FIFA Women’s World Cup warm-ups and centre-court sessions for the Adelaide International. His solo appearances range from hospitality sets to the no-rules Duelling DJs format, where classics, dance anthems and surprise selections take priority. He is also one half of Opposites Attract with Ashie Grindle, a duo active since 2023 whose bookings include NYE at the Bay, Tour Down Under, Oktoberfest and the Adelaide Showdown. Solo or with the duo, Ward keeps his approach open-format, responsive and centred on the dance floor.
