Ham Vance, aka Hamish Vance, is an Adelaide DJ with a taste for fast, bass-heavy club music and the looser edges of underground dance culture. His selections move through UK garage, speed garage, bassline, breaks, house and tougher techno-leaning cuts, favouring swing, pressure and tracks built for busy dancefloors rather than staying locked to one genre. Active under the Ham Vance name, his musical tastes cover a wide spread of contemporary club sounds, from stripped-back grooves and rolling garage through to harder, percussive dance music. His record collection reaches across established names and smaller underground producers alike, giving his sets plenty of room to move between styles. Rather than sticking to a fixed formula, Ham Vance keeps the focus on rhythm, momentum and finding the right track for the room, placing him firmly within Adelaide’s new generation of underground electronic DJs.
