Almost-NotQuite aka Mark Kershaw

Almost-NotQuite is the Adelaide DJ alias of Mark Kershaw, a relative newcomer behind the decks whose sound moves between techno, melodic house and progressive house rather than staying in a single lane. He began experimenting with DJing in late 2025 and started pursuing it seriously in early 2026. That first year quickly produced a notable result: Kershaw reached the Adelaide final of Your Shot 2026 and finished runner-up for the Smirnoff stage with a techno set. The competition gives emerging DJs five weeks of training before its showcase weekend, making the placing an early marker in a career that was only months old. Almost-NotQuite has since begun appearing on Adelaide club lineups, including a Front Room bill at Divide with Nils Hoffmann, Solace and Contagious. His sets draw equally from driving techno and the more melodic, progressive side of house, with the project still very much in its formative stage.
