The Pier Hotel

The Pier Hotel is a beachfront bar, restaurant and events venue on Holdfast Promenade at Glenelg. Beside the sand and marina precinct, it combines ocean views with a ground-floor bar, terrace dining and flexible function rooms. The venue serves pub-style meals, craft beer and signature cocktails, making it a regular stop for lunches, sunset drinks, live sport and evenings by the coast. Its weekly program includes live bands, trivia, food specials, themed nights and seasonal celebrations. Private spaces accommodate groups from 10 to 300 guests for weddings, meetings, parties and receptions, supported by catering and modern event facilities. The Pier Hotel also participates in Adelaide’s electronic-music calendar, hosting limited-capacity late-night events such as the official Electric Island after-party. Although the present venue is modern, its name continues a Glenelg hospitality tradition associated with the historic Pier Hotel, which opened on Christmas Day 1856.
