Moana Surf Life Saving Club is a volunteer-run coastal organisation with roots in the Moana Life Saving Club, formed in January 1938. After a wartime recess, patrols resumed in 1945 with a borrowed surf reel, and the present club was established in September 1952. Its royal blue and gold colours reflect links between early members and the West Torrens Football Club. The club provides beach patrols, rescues, first aid, lifesaving education, surf sports and Nippers programs for children from five years old. It also offers youth activities, training and volunteer pathways. Overlooking the beach, its function room accommodates 80 to 120 seated guests for weddings, birthdays, conferences and community events, with bar and audiovisual facilities. The venue has also hosted seaside music gatherings, including a planned Sunday afternoon of 1970s–1990s disco, pop and dance-floor classics. Venue bookings help support the club’s lifesaving work and its continuing role within the Moana community.
