Enchanted Forest

Enchanted Forest was an Adelaide rave series promoted by Daniel Michael, known as MPK, and Chad Bergman, aka Devious. Beginning in December 1998, it became a fixture, drawing thousands to locations revealed close to the date. Its programs crossed techno, hard house, trance, hardcore, drum & bass, breaks, hip-hop and live electronic music, pairing Adelaide crews with interstate and overseas guests. Port Gawler became one of its best-remembered homes, while later editions used indoor sites. After eight years of overnight events, Enchanted changed course in 2006 with a daytime festival at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds. More than 5,000 people attended despite heat, with a bill featuring Pendulum, Goldie, Kosheen, Tomcraft, John B, CJ Bolland, Kevin Energy, Steve Hill, Kid Kenobi, Killa Kela and Peter Combe alongside DJs and MCs. Enchanted Forest remains one of South Australia’s defining large-scale rave brands, remembered for secret journeys, lineups and ambitious sound and staging.
