CORE is an Adelaide hard-dance event series run by DJs Annon and Garfy, created to give the city’s faster and more underground sounds a place of their own. Active since 2024, the crew brings together hardcore, gabber, drum and bass, nightcore and related styles, pairing established selectors with emerging local talent and playful, internet-shaped rave culture. Its parties favour speed, colour and controlled chaos, but community remains central: CORE’s line-ups showcase Adelaide artists, encourage self-expression and welcome dancers who like their music hard without taking themselves too seriously. Early editions included CORE Goes Rawr X3 at The Little Red Door and 4/CORE at Confession in Port Adelaide, where Melbourne’s Boxxy headed a local bill. The project marked its first birthday in July 2025 with a multi-artist celebration. Through adventurous programming, vivid presentation and a proudly DIY spirit, CORE is helping a new generation connect with Adelaide’s hardcore underground.
