Phildo aka Phil Rogers
Phildo is Phil Rogers, an Adelaide DJ and producer also known as 12" Phildo, whose story runs straight through the city's underground. He started working at Sugar at 17, watching the likes of DJ HMC, The Carter Bros and Sidwho, and at 19 released his first music as P. Rogers on Adelaide label Bark Bang, partly in collaboration with Sidwho. In early 2008 he and his sister opened Cuckoo Bar in the city's late-night district, an intimate venue dedicated to underground electronic music that gave lesser-known local artists room to grow. A year later he launched Cuckoo Music, a label for his own productions and a long list of Adelaide talent. Cuckoo brought acts such as Mathew Jonson and Joe Miller to the city, and Phildo has since played Ancient World, Nevermind, the Adelaide Techno Convention and the free Terapi party in the parklands.
