Mehar aka Mehar Bains

Mehar, aka Mehar Bains, is an Adelaide DJ and music-maker who has been playing since she was 17, starting out at house parties. She has always had an ear for leftfield club sounds that make you dance and cry and dance more, and her open-format approach follows one rule: whatever makes you move. That means her sets can jump between absolutely opposing genres within minutes, from future garage and indie electronica to industrial hip hop and nu disco. She describes her own style simply as "mixing whatever sounds gooood," and rather than a tightly boxed-in club identity, her sets are shaped around mood, energy and the people in front of her. Within Adelaide, Mehar plays local collectives and intimate events, including LN Collective's House Party at The General Havelock Hotel.
