James Curd

James Curd is a Chicago-born, Adelaide-based DJ, producer, composer and music supervisor working across house music, film, television and video games. He began DJing at 15, released his first record at 19 and became known through Greenskeepers, blending swing, funk and Chicago house into the style dubbed G-Swing. Curd later worked under names including Chez Moon, Favored Nations and Modern Living, while founding Greenskeepers Music, Igloo, G-Swing and PRONTO. His catalogue has appeared on Classic, DFA, Defected, Rekids, Dirtybird, Permanent Vacation, Exploited and Get Physical. He has remixed or worked with artists including RÜFÜS DU SOL, Honey Dijon and The Blessed Madonna. Beyond clubs, Curd’s music has featured in Grey’s Anatomy, The Incredibles and the Grand Theft Auto series, for which he contributed more than 20 songs. Now based in Adelaide, he remains active as an artist and DJ, connecting the city’s house scene with decades of Chicago club history and a production career.
