Amanda Hugnkiss aka Samuel

Amanda Hugnkiss is the DJ alias of Adelaide selector Samuel, a familiar presence across the city’s small-bar and underground club circuit. Active since at least 2022, Amanda has built a reputation for eclectic sets that resist a single genre, moving through house, disco, funk, soul, pop curiosities and other records chosen for the room. Appearances at Smokelovers helped establish the project, followed by dates at Nevermind, Nearly and elsewhere. Amanda has also guested on Raw Like Sushi, Three D Radio’s Wednesday-night program, arriving with a bag of records and two hours to range beyond a club set. In September 2026, Amanda joined Chicago-born house artist James Curd at Electric Circus, bringing the alias into Adelaide’s Crippen Place basement. Whether playing a bar, radio session or late-night house floor, Amanda Hugnkiss favours an open-minded approach: warm selections, unexpected turns and music drawn from broad listening rather than a fixed playlist or narrow genre brief.
