DjM aka Emily Ryder
DjM is Emily Ryder, an Adelaide trance DJ who now goes by RYDA. The start was unusual. She took up DJing in 2018 and played her first live set in Amsterdam roughly six months later, coming to it later in life than most and treating that as the point rather than a caveat.
The sound is trance in its harder registers, taking in tech, hard, uplifting and vocal, with a taste for big bold beats and abrupt tempo changes. Adelaide clubs have carried most of the live work, while the wider reach has come through Essential Clubbers Radio in the UK, where she has recorded a run of live mixes since 2023, one of them alongside MC Shorty-B.
Recent uploads have moved toward her own material, with Heartstrings, If I'm Not, Feathers and What aWaste all landing across late 2025 and 2026. In April she played Dancing Room at Henley Square, a 150 minute all ages sunset session of DnB and trance shared with Kaizo Trap.
