Collo Awata

Collo Awata records and plays as COLLO, and the trail runs a long way beyond Adelaide. Internet Public Radio billed the name as Berlin based when SBVRSV aired a mix in 2020, and the radio work since has taken in NTS in London, Refuge Worldwide in Berlin and Oroko Radio out of Accra. The Opal Favours EP landed on TAR in November 2020, five tracks mixed alongside Soda Plains and Dawid Wasylek and released through the Los Angeles collective run by PBDY. Nia Records has carried much of the rest: a Refuge Worldwide session shared with Delfine and Loft Garten, two Oroko mixes, and a slot on the Intentions Vol. 1 compilation. There is also a track on Radiant Love's International Women's Day compilation. Locally, Dial'Afreeq brought all of that into the Ancient World basement in June, a left of centre night of live experimental electronics, deep funk and underground house with Funk Elixir, Bibbee Zee and Hello Moto.
