Nuanu Creative City
Bali
Nuanu is a 44 hectare creative city on the southwest coast of Tabanan in Bali, sitting between Nyanyi Beach and Tanah Lot Temple. Russian tech entrepreneur Sergey Solonin founded it in 2020 after relocating to the island, construction began in 2021, and around one hundred million US dollars has gone into it so far. The name means in process in Balinese, which suits a site still being built.
It is not a resort or a township so much as a walkable ecosystem: art galleries, a media park, an international school, wellness centres, hospitality and residential all inside one framework. Two thirds of the site stays undeveloped, the architecture leans on bamboo and alang-alang grass, and the whole thing is organised around the Balinese principle of Tri Hita Karana.
For an Adelaide index it appears for one reason. Locus takes over the site in June 2027 for four days of drum & bass in paradise.
