Park Bench

Park Bench is a free, community-based event project rooted in Adelaide's independent electronic music culture, bringing people together through music, art and a counterculture spirit. Rather than following a club model, the crew builds accessible grassroots parties where anyone can turn up to dance, talk and simply be part of the community. Its parties move around the city, from outdoor raves in the Park Lands and on suburban trails to collaborations with local community spaces and cheap drinks nights in the CBD. Lineups lean on homegrown selectors across drum and bass, techno, house, psytrance, disco and funk, with vinyl sets sitting comfortably alongside the rest. The project is deliberately DIY. Money raised through community support goes straight back into decorations, stages, lighting, equipment and possible future venues, so each party can improve on the last. Free, local and built from the ground up, Park Bench shows what Adelaide's scene can do without a door list.
