Daytime Disco

Daytime Disco is not a local operation. It runs a franchise style circuit of themed afternoon parties across the UK and Australia, hitting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Bendigo and Rockhampton alongside a long list of British towns, and lands in Adelaide at Higher Vision Bar on Hindley Street. The formula is identical wherever it goes. Three until eight, a single decade or theme, tickets between twenty five and forty five dollars through Fatsoma, and a crowd that wants the dancefloor without the four in the morning finish. Themes rotate through the eighties, nineties, two thousands, Motown, ABBA, country and, in Adelaide's case, trance. They sell. The Adelaide eighties party in November went sold out well ahead of the date, and the same happens routinely interstate. It is nostalgia programming run at scale, and the numbers suggest the appetite is considerably larger than the underground assumes.
