Gwliym aka Wil Davies

Gwliym is Wil Davies, an Adelaide selector who works exclusively with records. The name is a scramble of his own, the Welsh spelling of William turned inside out, which is about as much of a statement as he makes anywhere. Long-play Selections at Rocket Bar & Rooftop is where he turns up on the record. The night is strictly vinyl and the clue sits in the name: long play, not quick hits. Rather than cutting between peaks, the format asks for deep cuts given room to breathe, tracks allowed to run their full length while the rooftop fills and the cocktails move. He shared the decks with Bobby Padron and worked the stretch from ten o'clock until late.
