Bennis aka Benny Lindner

Bennis is Benny Lindner, an Adelaide DJ who has built a career on the crossover between hip hop and club music. He holds a residency at the Kandy Shop Club and has toured as DJ for a run of American hip hop names, among them Obie Trice, Swifty McVay, Necro and Madchild. The studio work sits on the other side of that line. His edits and mashups pull rap vocals over tech house and techno, and one of them, a rework of Missy Elliott and Aaliyah's Get It Girl, picked up support from Diplo on SiriusXM. More recent uploads run through a techno edit and an Indian meme edit, which gives a fair sense of the humour involved in the process. Radio and club rooms fill in the rest. Fresh 92.7 had him on Synergy back in June, and in February he took Haus Music at the Pony out to the Prancing Pony Brewery at Totness, carrying a full house party up into the Adelaide Hills alongside Eric Stephens.
