Sanctuary

Sanctuary is Adelaide’s seasonal open-air nightclub, transforming Helen Mayo Park / Tulya Wardli beside the River Torrens into a summer home for electronic music, art and dancing. Created by South Australian production company Company Works, the series debuted during Adelaide Fringe in 2024 with five weeks and eight events staged in partnership with Pivot. Its programming crosses house, disco, garage, breaks, electro and techno, pairing international and interstate guests with Adelaide selectors. More than an outdoor dancefloor, Sanctuary is built as a temporary creative environment, using purpose-made structures, lighting, sculpture and walk-in installations to make visual art part of the night. The series returned for longer seasons in 2025 and 2026, with Sidebyside Festival held within the riverside site. Regular Saturday parties, visiting curators and community collaborations have made it a fixture of Adelaide’s summer calendar. Season four is scheduled from January to March 2027.
